Profile Verification helps confirm that you match the photos on your profile, making it easier for other members to recognize authentic accounts and helping create a safer community.
Can I skip Profile Verification?
Yes. Profile Verification is optional.
If you're not ready to verify your profile, select Not now and then Skip for now. You can complete verification later at any time.
To start verification later:
- Go to My Profile.
- Select Verify Profile.
Start Profile Verification
When you're ready to verify your profile:
- Log in to your account.
- Select Get Verified from the verification prompt, or go to My Profile > Verify Profile.
Complete the verification process
- Select Continue in the verification window.
- Review the verification tips and select Continue again.
- Review the How It Works screen.
- Allow access to your device's front-facing camera.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and take a selfie when prompted.
- Turn your head as directed and complete the verification process.
- Once verification is successful, you'll see a confirmation message.
Select Done to return to your profile.
Verify using another device
If your current device does not have a camera, you'll see the Continue on another device option.
You can:
- Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, or
- Select Send Email to receive a secure verification link.
No app download is required.
Verification badge
Once your profile has been successfully verified, a blue shield badge with a white checkmark will appear next to your name on your profile.
If verification is incomplete or unsuccessful, the badge will appear greyed out.
To try again:
- Select the verification badge, or
- Go to My Profile > Verify Profile.
Then follow the verification steps again.
